A lot many people do not want to invest much on furniture when they know that they will be shifting soon, and are almost constantly on the move. This becomes more of a concern when you have to travel long distances at a time and the carrying the furniture around is not an option. In such cases, it is best to buy cheap furniture and beds for your temporary accommodation. However, cheap does not mean that they have to be low on quality. Especially if there are children around, you have to have sturdy furniture to avoid any mishaps.
- Things to remember while Buying Cheaper Beds: So how to buy affordable and cheap beds, and hence not compromise on the quality? The best way to do so is to go for furniture which is low in ornamentation. If you concentrate on the looks, then the designing will cost half the amount, and the bed may be carved out of some inferior quality wood. So go for neat cuts and straight lines which look just as sophisticated, without all the additional trimmings. You can make it look good with nice bed cloths and pillow cases.
- Different Kinds of Wooden Beds: The most affordable will be a single bed. If you less floor space and you are thinking of buying a bunk bed, then you have to be very careful regarding the make and solidity of the bed, if it is cheap. Check the bed personally before, or at least just after delivery, for any loose ends or cracks that connect the top bunk to the bed post. Give special attention to the steps leading to the top bunk. Wooden bunk beds are indeed cheaper than buying two or more individual beds, and they save a lot of floor space in constricted areas. Sleigh beds costs more than a regular wooden bed because of the designing, but it still costs cheaper then other kinds of beds with carvings and ornamentation.

A Bunk Bed is a kind of bed that has one bed stacked on the other on a single bed frame, with the higher bed accessible with a series of steps. This means that two or more people can sleep on the same bed space, one on top of the other. Bunk beds are great for homes that have more members with less room space. Initially, these beds were used in railways and ships where a large number of people traveled together and there was not enough space for all of them to sleep. Now these kinds of beds are largely used in dormitories and hostels, to accommodate students in larger numbers. Triple bunk beds can accommodate three people.
Bunk beds are extremely popular among kids but certain precautions should be taken by the adults. The beds should necessarily have guard rails. The top bed should always be used for older children, and both the top beds should necessarily have a railing to prevent the child from falling out. The lower bed can have a curtain attached for privacy. The entire structure should be extremely solid and sturdy, and the steps or the ladder should be strongly built to avoid any accidents. Children should be advised not to try and climb to the top beds through other means, since the top bed can be quite high and an injury can be quite severe.
In case the beds are being used by adults, you should check whether the beds are strongly attached to the bed frame, since the top bed would have to withstand a considerable weight. Since such beds are used by adults in transports and aircrafts, the practical side of it should also be kept in mind.
Another thing that should be kept in mind is the height of the top bed from the bottom bed. As the top bed is mounted on the bottom bed, there should be considerable amount of head space between the three beds to prevent the person sitting in the bottom bed from knocking his head into the lower base of the top bed. On the other hand, since this kind of bed can be quite high, the top bed often gets very close to the ceiling. So the distance of the top bed from the ceiling should also be considered.
